In my opinion,  firefighters are the most underrated public servants. Every time the bell at the firehouse rings, these heroes risk their lives to save other’s lives. Giving children a glimpse of what it means to be a firefighter will give them they recognition they deserve. The amount of firefighter fatalities per year is almost double than that of policemen. 82,000 firefighters were injured on duty in 2011. These staggering statistics shows us the bravery of firefighters. The next time you meet a firefighter,  salute him or her for their readiness to save you and others at the expense of risking their own lives.
