Firefighters are to be commended for the life-saving work they do every day. But another notch on their belt is the fact that they suit up in layers of clothing on the hottest summer days to fight fires and run into even hotter burning buildings. One of the Fire Academy training procedures is teaching firefighters to withstand the smoldering heat of a summer day in their fire suits.
